MJ, Office Manager / Treatment Plan Coordinator, Dental Assistant II, CDA
MJ joined the Mt. Mitchell Dentistry team in January 2021 as a Dental Assistant and brings over 30 years of dental experience! MJ became the Office Manager of Mt Mitchell Dentistry in February 2024, but she still loves to get back in the clinical area with her patients. MJ did not find her love of Dentistry until after college. The most rewarding part of her job is seeing people transform their smiles and watching their confidence soar! She and her husband, Ralph, live in Weaverville. They have two adult children (fraternal twins) and three precious Yorkie pups. When not working, MJ loves to spend time with family, friends, and her Yorkies. She loves watching college football, being on the water kayaking, and going on trips to the beach.
Olivia, Dental Hygienist
Olivia joined the Mt. Mitchell Dentistry team in 2021, bringing over 10 years of Dental Hygiene experience. She grew up, and currently lives in Spruce Pine, NC. Olivia knew she wanted to be a dental hygienist her junior year at Mitchell High School. She also knew she wanted to aid others with their “global sign of happiness” – a smile. Olivia attended East Tennessee State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She has a dog named Pearl and a cat named Wilson. In her free time, Olivia enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and running. She loves every minute of being a Dental Hygienist and looks forward to meeting and forging relationships with all her Mt. Mitchell Dentistry patients!
Jenna, Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistant II, CDA
Jenna joined our team in 2024 as a Certified Dental Assistant, while she was finishing Dental Hygiene School. In the Spring of 2025, she transitioned into her role as a full-time Dental Hygienist. Jenna is engaged to Justin, and they have planned their wedding for June 2026! Jenna loves seeing her patients smile! In her free time, she loves to read, spend time with family, and bake tasty goodies!
Mary Lou, Dental Assistant II
Mary Lou began her career as a Dental Assistant in 2001, working at Toe River Children’s Dental Clinic in Bakersville. In 2010, she joined the practice and was cross trained to work as an assistant and a front desk staff member. Mary Lou married her high school sweetheart, George, and they have two daughters, Amanda and Alecia. Both daughters are married and have blessed them with three wonderful grandchildren: Mary Grace, Murphy, and Selah. Outside of the office, Mary Lou enjoys shopping and spending time with her family.
Macie, Dental Assistant II
Macie grew up in Yancey County and graduated from Mountain Heritage High School in 2022. Macie began her career as a Dental Assistant in 2023 working in a Pediatric Dental Practice in Asheville. Macie joined the Mt. Mitchell Dentistry team in February 2024. Macie and her husband, Curtis, married in July 2025. In her free time Macie enjoys spending time outside, riding side by sides, camping, and beach trips.
Vanessa – Patient Service Representative
Vanessa joined the Mt Mitchell Dentistry team in January 2025. Vanessa is married to Jose, and they have two children, Emily and Jovani. Vanessa loves spending time with her family, shopping, and absolutely loves the beach. Vanessa graduated from McDowell High School in 2017 and now lives in Burnsville. Vanessa is fluent in Spanish and has been a huge asset to the team and our Spanish speaking patients.
Aleeyah – Patient Service Representative, Dental Assistant II
Aleeyah joined our team in 2025 as a Dental Assistant and is also part of our front office team. Aleeyah started working as a Dental Assistant in 2023. Aleeyah was born and raised in East Tennessee and moved to Burnsville in 2022 with her husband, Conner. Aleeyah enjoys spending time with her husband and their two fur babies, Greyson & Whiskey. She also enjoys the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and going to the lake. She loves to see her patients happy and confident with their smiles. Aleeyah says that she is so happy to be part of the Mt Mitchell Dentistry team!
